Last night, I was at Vision's Open Mic Night. There were a lot of Middle School age kids listening to bands their own age who were really quite good. It reminded me of an interview I read earlier in the week with Miami Steve VanZandt. He discusses how strange it is that rock has ended up being a genre with no radio play and his belief that there is something "life-saving" about rock n' roll. Maybe it's just my New Jersey background, but looking around the room last night I felt some of that. Maybe that's not such a bad business for a church to be in.
